Shoulder

  • Shoulder arthritis is less common than in other joints and results from cartilage loss. Cartilage acts as a cushion to the joint, movement becomes painful and restricted as this lining wears down. While cartilage cannot be regrown, treatment focuses on reducing inflammation and healing surrounding muscles, tendons, and ligaments to improve pain and restore range of motion.

  • Shoulder impingement occurs when tendons rub against the shoulder blade, often due to repetitive overhead activities such as lifting, swimming, or throwing. This can lead to irritation, inflammation, and pain. Tendon injuries may be chronic or degenerative, and treatment includes activity modification, physical therapy, and regenerative injections to repair damaged tissue.

  • Acromioclavicular (A-C) joint injuries affect the area where the collarbone meets the shoulder blade. These injuries often occur from falls or trauma, including car accidents, where seatbelt force impacts the collarbone. They are commonly overlooked or misdiagnosed, but diagnostic ultrasound allows accurate identification and targeted treatment.

  • Rotator cuff tendinopathy and tears may be from trauma or just wear and tear. These injuries affect the tendons that stabilize the shoulder, often due to repetitive strain, frozen shoulder, or accelerated aging. It causes pain, weakness, and a limited range of motion. Elbow

  • Tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow are overuse injuries affecting the tendons of the forearm.   • Radial Tunnel Syndrome occurs when a nerve in the forearm becomes compressed near the elbow, leading to dull, aching pain. Similar to carpal tunnel syndrome, this condition results from pressure on a sensitive nerve surrounded by muscles and connective tissue. Treatment focuses on relieving pressure and protecting the nerve to reduce irritation and restore function.

  • Tendinitis is a chronic condition caused by small tendon tears that fail to heal properly, leading to inflammation, pain, and weakness. If left untreated, it can progress into tendinosis, a degenerative condition that weakens the tendon and can lead to rupture. Early intervention helps prevent further damage, improves function and helps get you back in the game.

Hand & Wrist

  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is caused by compression of the median nerve in the wrist, leading to pain, numbness, and tingling in the hands. It is commonly associated with repetitive motion from work or sports. Treating the underlying nerve compression can relieve symptoms and restore proper hand function.

  • Arthritis in the hands, wrists, or fingers can result from osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or injury. It leads to joint inflammation, swelling, pain, and reduced mobility. Treatment focuses on reducing inflammation and maintaining joint function to improve daily use and long-term health.

Hips, Pelvis & Hamstrings

  • Hip osteoarthritis is a degenerative condition that affects the joint cartilage, leading to pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. It can affect both older individuals and younger patients due to injury or repetitive use. Without treatment, it may progress to the point of requiring joint replacement. Therapeutic approaches aim to reduce pain and preserve joint function.

  • The hip labrum is a ring of cartilage that helps stabilize the joint and allows smooth movement. Tears can occur due to injury or structural issues such as femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). These injuries cause pain, instability, and reduced range of motion. Treatment focuses on supporting tissue repair and improving joint mechanics.

  • Hip impingement occurs when the bones of the hip joint rub against each other due to abnormal bone growth or shape. This friction can damage surrounding structures, such as cartilage and tendons over time. Identifying and addressing the underlying cause helps reduce pain and prevent further joint deterioration.

Knee

  • The meniscus is a C-shaped cartilage in the knee that provides cushioning and stability. Tears often occur during twisting movements, especially when bearing weight.
